Accelerated Depth Therapy for Couples and Individuals

Turning conflict into connection.

In Person in Tacoma, WA | Online in WA & UT

Relationships—even the good ones—are hard.

This isn’t just a little disconnection or longing—you’re deep in the throes of intense relationship dynamics and navigating it all is overwhelming. Whether it’s tangled family webs or the rocky road of romance, these are some of life’s most difficult challenges. The battles aren’t just internal, either; they’re spilling over into every part of your life, leaving wounds that fester deep inside. Perhaps it’s hard to bridge the gap between understanding each other intellectually and feeling emotionally connected. It's like that sense of intimacy you crave feels distant, or when it does surface, it's fleeting and hard to trust because you fight so often.

These days, emotions are running high, tensions are escalating, and it’s beginning to feel like it’s all too much to bear. You’re feeling battered and bruised, both emotionally and mentally. And the thought of expressing your true feelings in the middle of this chaos? It seems daunting, if not impossible.

FIT & DP

I have considered the ideal conditions for growth and healing from every angle. Excellence isn’t just in the name; I have implemented it into my schedule and practice policies, allowing for enough time for you to go deep and for me to study what we’ve done, so that you can be confident that you are in good hands and that your therapy is actually going to work.

Transformative therapy designed with your healing in mind.

  • I track your well-being and how you feel about therapy every session using the Outcome Rating Scale and Session Rating Scale, research backed tools. Your feedback informs my approach (Feedback Informed Treatment). At the end of every session we discuss what’s working and what’s not. How can we know what’s working and what’s not if we don’t measure it (quantitative) and talk about it (qualitative)?

  • I only see clients for a minimum of 75 minutes biweekly, no less. Frequency & length of appointments create the container for depth therapy and lasting change. Change takes a lot of repetition with increasingly bigger challenges and “heavier weights”. In addition to that, I have a limited cancellation policy and let clients know from the very beginning that consistency is a must if they are wanting to strengthen their mental and emotional “muscles”. I know this from personal experience—I meditate in silence on retreat for several weeks every year. It’s why I also offer therapy intensives.

  • I videotape every therapy session and set aside 25-30 minutes to review videotape of every client session, practicing my skills and improving my response to you. I use the proven science of Deliberate Practice to train myself as a therapist like Michael Jordan did for basketball. It is my intention to be a world-class therapist delivering world-class therapy. Without videotape of what we’ve done, how do I know what I’m doing that’s working and that’s not? How can I become good at hitting my free throws if I don’t practice under “game day” conditions? Videotape most closely simulates the conditions under which I am helping you. Learn more about Deliberate Practice.

  • With me, you get a “2 for 1” deal. You’re not just working with me, you are also working with my supervisor, by proxy. Most therapists end supervision after they are fully licensed and no longer required to do it. I see the same expert supervisor weekly for years on end and get feedback on my videotaped work, until I am a master of my craft. I bring feedback collected from you along with videotape of our work to identify what I can do better, based on what you say and what my supervisor and I see on tape. I get client and supervisor feedback on my work. Therapy with me is highly collaborative and intensely tailored to you. I don’t just get good at helping anyone; I become an expert at helping you.

  • You can be confident that I know what I’m doing and that you’re in good hands. Like many therapists, I also engage in ongoing training for my therapy models. I am currently in a 3 year intensive training for Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) and attend hours-long, half-day and multi-day trainings in addition to that, expanding my theoretical knowledge. I pair my ongoing supervision with an ISTDP supervisor/teacher with the training I do in order to put what I’ve learned into practice and iterate on my skills.

In addition to my heavy emphasis on professional growth, I am even more invested in my personal and spiritual development. I prioritize it over my work because I know that every therapist’s biggest tool is themself. You can be confident that you will be working with a happy, balanced and energized therapist who self-examines and is always working on their own internal world. I aim to be a student and teacher. There is no path I will ask you to walk that I have not yet myself.
